Sleep Song

sleep now
let the cool darkness
wash over you
lay all your problems down
it's been such a long day
and there's nothing else
you can possibly do
but close your eyes
untangle your mind
the Japanese sandman
will be here soon
so float downstream
through this lush
and soft rain garden
you'll be safe here
I came by earlier
and sent all the demons
and worries away
let every muscle loosen
and surrender to gravity
surrender to the temporary
abyss
there is nothing here
but you
and God
and the seeds of
sweet dreams
awaiting you.
